You can apply the same build process to recreate your very own interior door. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DIY Paneled Door Frame<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We began by building a door frame using <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/DVkom5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pine boards<\/a>. You can easily use <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/rn2Myj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">common boards<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/kjo620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plywood<\/a> as an alternative. We created pocket holes using a <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/kjoxnx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kreg pocket hole jig<\/a>. To achieve a clean, modern look, we secured the pine board panels in the back. We first drilled pilot holes through the door frame. For the interior side of the door, we decided to go with <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/9WJkdE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">plywood<\/a>. It worked beautifully with our router. You may also need a <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/P1e4j\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">door lock installation kit<\/a> to create that perfect cut-out for your <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/4eW9n3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">locksets<\/a>. I always use my personal creation of <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/QB0Mz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Natural<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/q1VaO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Early American <\/a>stains to achieve the perfect brown shade. We made sure to apply a <a href=\"https:\/\/homedepot.sjv.io\/EaZe59\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clear wood sealer<\/a> to protect the exterior door surface from moisture. Exterior Door Designs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Both door designs couldn&#8217;t have turned out any more beautiful! The brown stain is serving up all the warmth this space needed and we couldn&#8217;t be happier! Originally I wanted the interior side painted SW Dorian Gray to match our main home&#8217;s interior doors. However, staining one side and then having to tape it up to paint the other side was too time-consuming. That&#8217;s when we made the decision to stain both sides instead. Some parts of the interior door wouldn&#8217;t stain because we&#8217;d used spackling paste to fill in some gaps.
